Visit us

The sanctuary open hours:
Wednesday & Friday 10am - 12pm
Sunday 10am - 1pm
99 Trigg Road, Huapai, Auckland

Coming to meet the cats

Many of our residents arrived frightened, unwell, or simply worn down by hard lives. The sanctuary is their home and their safe place to heal, so it isn't a petting zoo and we keep visitor numbers small so the cats stay calm and settled.
Visits take place during our open hours, but we ask you to arrange yours in advance so we can keep numbers manageable. All visits are guided by one of our visitor hosts and for the cats' wellbeing and your safety, no one enters the sanctuary without an authorised host present.

If you'd love to meet some of our residents and see the work first-hand, please email info@thecatfoundation.org.nz

Dropping off a donation

You're welcome to drop off donations during our open hours. Every contribution - food, bedding, or funds toward medical care - makes a real difference to the cats in our care, and we're grateful for every bit of it.

If you're hoping to have a tour while you're here, please see Coming to meet the cats above - tours need to be booked in advance so we can have a visitor host ready for you.

We greatly appreciate donations of the following items:
  • Cat beds - flat cushion and igloo types

  • Cat treats

  • Cat towers and scratching posts

  • Toys

  • Cat food

  • Combs and grooming items

  • Cat cages and traps
