Fostering is a great way to help a cat in need. Our foster families need to give their foster animal love, care and patience, introduce them to a real home life experience, and rules and boundaries. We have a dedicated foster coordinator to help mentor/advise new foster families.

Some of our cats are old or have on-going health issues which make them difficult to adopt. These friendly cats need a home where they will be secure and feel loved. We offer a permanent foster arrangement for these cats. The NZ Cat Foundation covers the cost of any vet treatment for permanent fosters. So, you have the comfort of knowing that you won't be needing to pay any vet bills for these cats. Some cats needing permanent fostering have conditions like diabetes, thyroid or kidney disease that need regular medication. A permanent foster needs to be able to administer the medications and also take the cat to our vet if they need regular monitoring for the medical condition. Please contact us if you would like to be a permanent foster for one of our cats.
