We have over 150 cats who will live out their lives in safety and comfort at our "no kill" facility. We offer safe sanctuary for cats who are not adoptable because they are on long term medication, are elderly, or have problems arising from their lives before they came to us and for a few, now call the shelter home.

This makes an wonderful gift for the cat lover in your life! 

Your Support Will:

Help fund major operations and provide ongoing medical care for as long as your chosen cat needs it. Ensure that cats who were abused, neglected, or abandoned receive love and attention at our no-kill rescue facility. Make you an essential part of a grateful cats life!

For joining Friends of the Sanctuary you will receive the following:

Monica was living behind a cafe in Parnell with her 4 kittens. The NZCF arranged to trap them all and they were fostered by one of our volunteers. We found homes for all the kittens but Monica was not keen on human company so she went to live at the sanctuary. She has a wonderful life there now - staying out of reach of humans - enjoying the company of the other cats.
This is Sadie. She is a very timid cat who doesn't like humans. We have a lot of cats like her at the sanctuary who are not suitable for adoption.
Chubby chops has kidney failure and diabetes. He needs insulin shots twice a day and regular vet checks to test his glucose levels.
Luca is deaf. We tried to adopt him out but he wouldn't settle so he came back to the sanctuary where he feels safe and secure. He has lots of cat friends and is a favourite of the volunteers always liking a pat or two.
These cats are affectionately known as the Moggie Mafia by the volunteers. They came from Quay Street, downtown Auckland and have banded together in a little gang. They are all quite suspicious of humans, but live together in harmony - keeping an eye on any humans that walk too close!
This is Ash. He has Wobbly Kitten Syndrome. Wobbly Kitten Syndrome is an unusual neurological disorder. Cats and kittens with “wobbly cat syndrome” or Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), have a disorder where the cerebellum of the brain has not fully formed. He was living on the streets - probably because the breeder dumped him. When he first came to us we thought he had been hit by a car, but vet check showed no injury. Ash loves living at the sanctuary and has turned from a fearful cat into a cat that loves pats.
